It starts with ten deep blue jasper beads, 10mm, smooth, a colour that sits between ocean and slate. Between them: white baroque pearls, 8mm, each one organic and slightly different in shape. Gold hematite spacers run between every element, mirror-like and grounding. At the centre, a large flower pendant in 18k gold-plated stainless steel. Heavy in the hand. Warm against the skin.
In the photographs, the blue appears rich and steady, but in person, the jasper has genuine depth, and the gold hematite reflects light so the necklace seems to move as you move.
At 43 cm, it sits at the collarbone. The flower pendant rests at the centre, substantial and still. The necklace has presence before you even look closely.
