White Keshi Pearl Drop Earrings in Sterling Silver

For the woman who knows that lustre is everything.

Keshi pearls are not regular pearls. They form without a nucleus, made entirely of nacre all the way through. The result is a pearl with a depth of lustre that standard cultured pearls, which are mostly beads coated in a thin layer of nacre, cannot match. Each Keshi pearl is flat, irregular and completely its own shape. They don’t look like the pearls in your grandmother’s necklace. They look like something the sea kept for itself and then changed its mind about.

These earrings are white Keshi pearl drops, set in sterling silver, falling 4 cm from the ear. Each earring is one pearl. That’s enough.

In photos, they read as clean and luminous, the flat, irregular surface of the Keshi catching light in a way that round pearls don’t, suspended from a sterling silver fitting. In person, the lustre of an all-nacre pearl is more present than photographs can fully reproduce. Keshi pearls move differently in light. They always have.

Warm white. Deep nacre lustre. Cool sterling silver. A combination that needs nothing else.

At a 4 cm drop, they fall just below the earlobe. The sterling silver fittings are hypoallergenic and suitable for sensitive ears.

Why you’ll love it

This earring is for the woman who understands quality without needing it explained.

Keshi pearls form as a by-product of the culturing process: when the nucleus is rejected, the mollusc continues producing nacre around the remaining tissue. The result is a pearl that is 100% nacre. No bead inside, no thin coating. Just nacre, all the way through, in a shape that is uniquely its own.

White Keshi pearls have a warmth and depth to their lustre that immediately sets them apart from round cultured pearls. Their irregular, flat form means each one catches light differently and from different angles. The sterling silver fittings are hypoallergenic. Because these are genuine Keshi pearls, the exact shape, size and tone will vary from pair to pair. Each one is different. That’s not a limitation; it’s what makes it yours.

A little note about natural materials

Keshi pearls are naturally individual. Shape, size, surface and tone vary from pearl to pearl. No two Keshi pearls are the same shape. These natural variations are not flaws; they are the point. Each pair is one of a kind.

Care

Avoid water and chemicals. When you have put on the item, clean it gently using a soft, dry cloth. Since it is sterling silver, it may tarnish naturally over time; gently polish it with a silver cloth to restore its shine.

For the woman who wears what the sea held on to longest.
