People who notice the little things others pass by: a change in someone's voice, the atmosphere of a place, the beauty in something imperfect.

19 February to 20 March

They can feel intensely, imagine without restriction, and discover meaning in things that cannot be easily explained.

Pisces is the twelfth and last sign of the zodiac. A water sign traditionally ruled by Jupiter and, in modern astrology, Neptune, it is linked with compassion, imagination, intuition and creativity.

Represented by two fish swimming in opposite directions, Pisces symbolises the meeting of different worlds: dreams and reality, emotion and reason, the inner self and the world around us.

Its message is a gentle one: sensitivity can be a form of strength.

The Pisces woman: imaginative, compassionate and deeply individual

Pisces is often associated with women who are creative, empathetic and drawn to beauty, music, nature or meaningful personal connections.

They may be drawn to things with a story behind them: a carefully chosen gift, or jewellery that serves as a reminder of someone or something important.

But attending to other people's feelings can sometimes mean forgetting your own.

You can be compassionate without carrying everyone's troubles. You can care deeply and still hold firm boundaries.

Being sensitive doesn't make your needs any less important.

Natural stones associated with Pisces

Several stones are linked with Pisces in modern crystal traditions. These associations are symbolic and vary by source.

Aquamarine. Aquamarine's pale blue and blue-green colour is reminiscent of clear water and open skies. It is traditionally linked with calmness, communication and clarity.

Amethyst. Amethyst ranges from soft lavender to deep violet. It has long been appreciated in jewellery and is symbolically linked with wisdom, reflection and spirituality.

Labradorite. As light moves across its surface, labradorite shows flashes of blue, green and gold. In crystal traditions, it is associated with intuition, transformation and imagination.

Each stone has its own atmosphere, from the delicate colour of aquamarine to the rich violet of amethyst and the mysterious flashes of labradorite.

Why pearls belong in the Pisces story

Pearls connect naturally with the symbolism of Pisces. They are formed in water, created organically, and shaped by their environment over time.

Their gentle lustre echoes light sliding across the surface of the sea. From classic white pearls to creamy keshi and dramatic baroque forms, the variety is endless.

Paired with aquamarine, pearls create a fresh, watery effect. Combined with amethyst, they offer a soft contrast between luminous white and deep violet.

A baroque pearl can make a beautiful statement on its own, a reminder that natural beauty doesn't need to follow a perfect pattern.

There is something quietly poetic about wearing a material made by nature, one with its own unique shape and character.

Jewellery that tells a personal story

At Pearl Art Nature, I make one-of-a-kind jewellery in the UK using genuine pearls and natural stones. Read more about why I choose natural materials in my journal.

I love that each natural material brings something unique to a design: a pearl with an unexpected shape, a stone with surprising markings, or two colours that combine in a way I hadn't originally intended.

For me, making jewellery is about bringing elements together to create something with its own quiet character.

Choosing jewellery can be a personal thing too. A colour that brings back a memory of the sea. A pearl that feels timeless. A combination that makes you smile when you wear it.

You don't need a complicated reason to choose something you love.

A little thought to take with you

Pisces reminds us that imagination, compassion, and the things we feel deeply have real value.

We are often guided towards practicality, common sense and strength. Those qualities matter. But they don't require us to set aside our more sensitive side.

You can dream at any age. You can create something new, change direction, or rediscover a part of yourself that has been quietly waiting.

You don't need to become harder in order to become stronger.

Strength can be found in simply being yourself, even when that includes softness.
