There comes a point when you look in your wardrobe and think…
“Who am I supposed to be wearing all this for?”
The clothes are still there. The jewellery is still there. But somehow, the person choosing them has changed.
Maybe you have changed too.
Our style can quietly shift as we move through life. What felt like us ten or twenty years ago might suddenly feel uncomfortable, too young, too safe — or simply not us anymore.
And that’s okay.
We’re not meant to stay the same.
When your old style doesn’t feel like you anymore
Sometimes the change happens gradually.
Life gets busy. Work, family, responsibilities and everything in between take up so much space that what we wear becomes an afterthought.
You reach for the same comfortable things because they’re easy.
Then one day you catch your reflection and realise you’ve been dressing for everyone else — or for the woman you used to be.
That can feel surprisingly unsettling.
But it can also be the beginning of something lovely.
Because finding your style again doesn’t have to mean completely reinventing yourself.
It can simply mean paying attention to yourself again.
Confidence isn’t about looking younger
I think we’re often given the wrong idea about confidence.
We’re told to hide what’s changed.
Dress younger. Look slimmer. Cover this. Smooth that. Try to turn the clock back.
But perhaps confidence isn’t about looking like the woman you were twenty years ago.
Perhaps it’s about looking in the mirror and thinking:
“Yes. That’s me.”
There is something incredibly powerful about wearing something because you love it — not because it makes you look younger, thinner or more fashionable.
A beautiful piece of jewellery can be enough to change how you feel.
Not because the jewellery changes you.
Because sometimes, it reminds you that you are still here.
Your style is allowed to change.
Maybe you suddenly find yourself drawn to colours you’ve never worn before.
Maybe you want bigger earrings.
Maybe you prefer something simple and delicate.
Maybe you’ve always worn silver, and now you’re falling in love with warm gold tones.
Or perhaps you’ve discovered pearls and wondered why you didn’t wear them years ago.
There are no rules.
Your style doesn’t have to make sense to anyone else.
It only has to feel right to you.
And I think that’s one of the beautiful things about getting older. We can become less interested in what we’re supposed to like and more interested in what actually makes us feel good.
Finding yourself again
Finding yourself doesn’t always happen through some huge transformation.
Sometimes it’s very small.
Putting on the necklace you normally save for “best”.
Choosing earrings that make you smile when you catch them in the mirror.
Wearing colour again.
Taking a little more time getting ready.
Or simply deciding that you don’t need a special occasion.
You are the occasion.
That’s something I love about pearls.
They don’t need to be perfect to be beautiful.
Baroque pearls have their own shapes, curves and little quirks. No two are exactly alike.
And perhaps that’s a lovely reminder for us too.
We don’t have to smooth out every little imperfection before we allow ourselves to feel beautiful.
A new chapter doesn’t mean becoming someone new
Maybe you’re entering a different chapter of your life.
Your children are older. Your work has changed. Your priorities have changed. Your body has changed. Your confidence may have changed too.
That doesn’t mean you’ve lost yourself.
Perhaps you’re simply meeting a version of yourself you haven’t had much time to get to know yet.
So if your style is changing, let it.
Try the necklace.
Wear the earrings.
Choose the colour you’ve always been afraid of.
Buy the piece that makes you feel a little bit special.
Not because you need to become someone else.
But because you’re allowed to become more yourself.
And sometimes, finding your style again is really just another way of finding yourself.
